K-point mesh density around Fermi energy

#1 Post by darshw » Tue Oct 25, 2011 9:51 am

Hello VASP Users,

My current goal is to be able to plot the fermi surface; to achieve this I am running calculations with really dense k-point grids.

Is there a way to increase the k point mesh density specifically around the Fermi energy of the material being simulated? Or is my only option to simulate with an extremely dense mesh across the entire BZ.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
