Planar average of 3D volumetric data

#1 Post by tuocvu » Fri Aug 23, 2019 3:33 am

Hi,
I'd to ask a question on planar average of 3D volumetric data, e.g. ESP's file LOCPOT and/or charge density CHGCAR, P4Vasp produces three lines as (minimum. maximum and average as green, blue and red) according to which definition?
As in literature, I found only one definition as [JJ. Junquera, M. H. Cohen, and K. M. Rabe, J. Phys.: Condens. Matter 19, 213203 (2007)]
<u(z)>=(1/S)Integrate_overS[u(x,y),dx,dy]
Thnks
